My cancer journey has not been an easy one.

In early December, I underwent an extensive oncoplastic surgery where nearly 60% of my breast tissue was removed and reconstructed. Unfortunately, the pathology report showed that clear margins were not achieved. What followed was one of the hardest moments of my life — being told that I would need to go back for further surgery, possibly a mastectomy, after chemotherapy.

Suddenly, I was forced to make decisions I had desperately hoped to avoid:
implant versus DIEP flap reconstruction, single versus double mastectomy — all while managing the emotional weight of being a 40-year-old mother to two young girls.

With a diagnosis of stage 3, grade 3 breast cancer, one positive lymph node, and ER/PR positive, HER2 negative disease, my treatment plan involved chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and long-term hormone therapy. Every option carried consequences, risks, and uncertainties — including concerns about infection potentially delaying radiation.

During this overwhelming phase, I realized how dangerous it can be to rely only on social media opinions or anecdotal experiences. That’s when I connected with Indian Cancer Treatment (ICT).

Today marks a huge triumph in my cancer journey!! Today with the removal of my port made it very very real to me that I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR!! This was the last step for me to make it real and some people don’t make it to this part!! I’m so very grateful and thankful to the GOOD LORD that I did!! I still have to continue with my check ups and once I hit 5 years of being cancer free I’m done!!!

ওনারা আমাকে সাথে সাথেই অপারেসন করতে বারন করেন এবং বলেন  PET CT স্ক্যান না করিয়ে অপারেসন করলে বড় ভুল হয়ে যাবে এবং এক বার অপারেসন ভুল হয়ে গেলে পরবর্তীকালে দ্রুত ক্যান্সার ফিরে আসতে পারে । আমি রিস্ক না নিয়ে হাসপাতাল থেকে ভাইকে ছাড়িয়ে আনি তার পর ভিসা করিয়ে ইন্ডিয়ান ক্যান্সার ট্রিটমেন্টের এর কথামতো সোজা চেন্নাইতে MGM ক্যান্সার হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাই। ওখানে ওনারা PET CT আগে করেন এবং তার পরে দেখা যায় যে থাইরয়েড এই শুধু নয় আসে পাশের গ্ল্যান্ডেও ছড়িয়েছে। সেইমতো দুই দিন পরে অপারেশন করা হয় এবং তার পরে আয়োডিন থেরাপি দেয়া হয় । এখন ভাই ফলো আপএ আছে এবং সুস্থ।
